Fresh Flour Company

Andrew Gilhespy is the founder of Fresh Flour Company, a worker-owned, not-for-profit organic stone mill in Buckfastleigh, Devon. In 2015 he grew, scythed, threshed and milled an acre of April Bearded wheat by hand and never looked back. The mill buys heritage and population wheats directly from organic farms, paying farmers what they ask, and turns them into flour, sourdough crackers, biscuits and pasta. Andrew holds an MSc in Sustainable Food Systems from Schumacher College, and his long-term vision is simple: a community-owned mill in every town, with the whole journey from wheat to plate visible on site.
