Anne Martens

De Witte Beek (Farmers on the ZoBio Project)

Anne Martens works near Leuven (25 km from Brussels). After completing a 2 ½ year organic farming programme, she joined CSA De Witte Beek in 2019. Since 2023, she and five colleagues have been farming 16 hectares in the Herpendal Valley. This project represents a unique opportunity to develop a robust, regenerative, small-scale mixed farm on public land from the City of Leuven, on which they hold a long-term lease. They sell organic vegetables to the Sint-Kamillus Psychiatric Hospital. Before 2016, she worked for Rikolto making catering kitchens more sustainable. Anne believes in the power of passion and cooperation, working together to make change possible.
