Allison & Neil Singleton

Birding Tours Jersey

Allison was born and educated in Jersey and has had a passion for all aspects of wildlife from an early age. She is a keen botanist and birder contributing regularly to both the Société Jersiaise Botany and Ornithology groups. Over the past 4 years Alli has established herself in the Entomology field by becoming a keen moth recorder and taking an interest in all insect life.

Whilst working in Finance for a number of years she volunteered at the (Durrell) Blue Iguana Conservation Group in Grand Cayman. More recently Alli spent some time working on a project for Jersey Trees for Life monitoring the state of Jersey’s woodlands.

Neil has been passionate about birdwatching since his father took him on walks with his first pair of binoculars and guidebook back in the late 50’s in the UK. It was not long until he joined the local Young Ornithologists Club and later the RSPB.

Having moved to Jersey in 1977, Neil joined the Société Jersiaise Ornithology Section and began to build a comprehensive knowledge of the sites and habitats that make up Jersey’s 45sq miles.

Neil became a recorder for the BTO (British Trust for Ornithology) & BBS (Bird Breeding Survey) and in 2013, after over 30 years in the Hospitality Industry, set up his own company offering birding walks to residents and visitors to Jersey.

Allison and her husband Neil are ‘Birding Tours (Jersey)’, who lead bespoke bird watching tours, general wildlife walks, puffin watches and dawn chorus events island wide.
